New Burmatex Surface Trace Carpet

The new Surface Trace carpet tile collection from Burmatex is now available from Flooring Providers, with the full range and samples available to view at our Dublin showroom.

Surface Trace is a new carbon-neutral, multilevel loop carpet tile collection inspired by traditional weaving and handmade textiles. It combines a chunky, textured finish with a palette of twelve neutral colourways designed for contemporary commercial interiors.

The collection is suitable for a range of projects, including office and workplace, education and other commercial environments.

12 New Surface Trace Colours

Surface Trace is available in twelve colourways, combining warm and cool neutrals with contrasting tones.

The collection includes:

Mill, Loom, Weave, Knotted, Pin, Frame, Unfold, Tweed, Entwine, Mesh, Aspect and Echo.

The palette has been developed to allow individual colours to be specified across larger areas or combined to introduce subtle changes in colour and zoning within a flooring scheme.

Surface Trace is supplied as a 50 x 50cm carpet tile and is Burmatex’s first random-lay carpet tile. The random-lay format helps create a less repetitive appearance across larger installations.

Multilevel Loop Construction

Surface Trace uses a multilevel loop construction to give the carpet tile its distinctive textured finish. The design takes its cues from traditional weaving, with variations in the surface creating the appearance and texture of woven material.

The random-lay installation method further reduces the appearance of repetition between individual tiles, creating a more continuous finish across the floor.

Carbon-Neutral Carpet Tiles

Sustainability is a key part of the Surface Trace specification. The collection is manufactured using Universal Fibers Thrive matter yarn, which Burmatex identifies as a carbon-negative recycled yarn. It is combined with the manufacturer’s BioBase recycled backing.

Burmatex reports that Surface Trace is carbon-neutral, with:

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD), technical specification and NBS specification are also available for the collection.

Surface Trace for Commercial Flooring Specifications

Surface Trace expands the range of Burmatex carpet tiles available for commercial projects, providing specifiers with a more heavily textured option alongside the manufacturer’s existing collections.

The combination of 12 colourways and random-lay installation provides flexibility for use across larger floor areas as well as for zoning individual spaces within workplace and other commercial interiors.

Surface Trace can also be considered alongside other Burmatex carpet tile collections where different colours, patterns or textures are required within the same flooring specification.
